Blog: A taste of what you may find on Maui

Did you bring your ‘ukulele?

Did you? Did you bring your ‘ukulele on your Maui trip? Looking for a good excuse to buy one?

Tomorrow (Saturday October 12th) the Maui Arts and Cultural Center is hosting a free ‘ukulele workshop from 10am-2pm. The only requirements, that you are able to play a C, F and G7 chord on your ‘ukulele. Sounds like an excellent excuse to buy a ‘ukulele to me! You can of course pick one up at most convenience stores (ABC, Whalers General Stores etc). If you want a better quality one, check out Bounty Music in Kahului. Talk about selection…

If you’re more interested in listening to ukulele music, check out the free 8th Annual Maui ‘Ukulele Festival, also at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center this Sunday October 13th from 1-6pm. This is an outdoor event, bring your low-backed beach chairs or towels to sit on. Made-in-Hawaii arts and crafts and food will be available for sale (no coolers).
