Have you ever attended one of the fine arts fairs under the Banyan Tree in Lahaina? The Lahaina Arts Society completely fills up the area underneath the Banyan Tree with local artists. You’ll find paintings, ceramics, photography, glass art, wood carvings, jewelry, baskets and more with live music (and sometimes hula).
Here are the dates for the next arts fairs:
Nov 16 & 17, 24, 28
Dec 14 & 15, 28 & 29
Do check out these fairs if you are on island (and they have them throughout the year, too, check their website for more information and for links to the member artists). The Lahaina Arts Society also runs two non-profit galleries in Lahaina (one on the main floor of the historic courthouse next to the Banyan Tree, and another in the basement, the Old Jail Gallery). They provide free art education scholarships for Maui youth.
