Blog: A taste of what you may find on Maui

Have you eaten at these golf courses?

Here are two new-to-us golf course restaurants. Both were very good. And no, you don’t need to golf to eat there.

The first is here in Kihei at the public Elleair Golf Course, just up the street from the Kihei Aquatic Center. Kono’s on the Green is a relatively new restaurant, serving lunch, dinner and happy hour. Sunday evenings they have live jazz. Lunch is very good and reasonably priced (I had the seared ahi salad, the burger was excellent, the cheese pizza on the kids menu very tasty), we haven’t tried dinner.

The second is the Kahili Golf Course Restaurant in central Maui with beautiful central Maui views of sugar cane fields (and the ocean in the distance). Kahili is a public course, currently running $79/person golf specials. Their Rueben sandwich was very good, as was the fish and chips. Check their website for hours of operation.
