Blog: A taste of what you may find on Maui

Katinas Concert on Maui

Are you a fan of the contemporary Christian band The Katinas? This is a vocal group of five brothers, originally from American Samoa. Many people in Hawaii are of Samoan ancestry also.

The Katinas are singing a benefit concert on Thursday, February 13th, 2014 at Hope Chapel in Kihei (just off the Piilani Hwy next to the recycling center). Proceeds will go towards a camp being held for children of Maui’s incarcerated parents (March 14-17, 2014). Many of Hawaii’s incarcerated are held in mainland prisons, far away from their families. These camps are meant to encourage their kids and hopefully bring good influences into their lives.

Tickets are on sale at the Hope Chapel bookstore, $20 for general admission, $50 for a special backstage pass, which includes meeting the Katinas and pupu (appetizers) after the concert.

Come take in a great concert and help support Maui kids!
