Blog: A taste of what you may find on Maui

U drive. U text. U pay.

Does that sound familiar?

Yes, here in Hawaii we also have distracted driving laws. Get caught driving while holding a hand-held electronic device, and you will be paying. Penalties are $100-$200 for the first offense and up for subsequent offenses. And remember, drivers under the age of 18 are absolutely not allowed to use a cell phone etc while driving, not even hands-free.

The Maui Police Department will be aggressively enforcing these laws April 10-15. So drive safe!
