There are some things you can’t plan for when you go on vacation, like needing a signature notarized.
If you bank with one of the banks here on Maui (such as Bank of Hawaii or First Hawaiian Bank), they have a notary on staff that you can use (usually for free), you just need an appointment. However, chances are, if you are here on vacation, you don’t actually have a bank account here in Hawaii.
I recently discovered you can also go to the UPS store in the Longs Shopping Center (next to Amigo’s Mexican restaurant) in Kihei. It’s pretty inexpensive (we paid $20 for four pages to be notarized). They also have a range of other services besides mailing things, such as printing, sending/receiving faxes etc.
